SGM Magnetics S.p.A.

SGM Magnetics S.p.A., headquartered in Manerbio near Brescia in northern Italy, is a pioneer and world leader in industrial magnet and separation technologies. Founded in 1954, the company takes its name and logo from its two historical core businesses: lifting-magnet systems for the steel industry and magnetic separators for the recycling industry.

Over more than seventy years SGM has built one of the widest ranges of in-house separation technologies – magnetic separators, inductive sensor-based separators (ISS), X-ray separators, optical colour sorters, gravimetric separation and complete process plants for metal recovery. Its milestones include the first lifting electromagnets (1954), electro-permanent magnets (1974), rare-earth electro-permanent magnets (1991) and the Dynamic Ferrous Separators (2004).

SGM’s declared mission is to advance the circular economy by helping its customers recycle metals more efficiently and profitably. The group operates through subsidiaries in Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the United States, China, Mexico, India and Japan. As an IGMNiR member, SGM brings world-class expertise in the separation and recovery of non-ferrous metals, strengthening the technological backbone of the recycling value chain.

StoneX Financial Europe GmbH

StoneX Financial Europe GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg (Poststraße 20), is the European subsidiary of StoneX Group Inc. – a global financial services institution listed on NASDAQ (SNEX) and serving clients in more than 180 countries. The Hamburg company, registered in 2001 (Hamburg commercial register HRB 80844) and supervised by the German regulator BaFin, specialises in commodities trading – metals in particular – and in arranging transactions between producers, dealers and industrial users of raw materials.

The group’s history dates back to 1924, when Saul Stone founded a small trading business in Chicago that grew into Saul Stone & Co. Its merger with Farmers Commodities Corporation created the FCStone group, which in 2009 combined with International Assets Holding Corporation (est. 1981) to form INTL FCStone. In July 2020 the group adopted its current name, StoneX Group Inc. Today StoneX employs around 4,000 people in close to 70 offices across six continents.

On the metals markets StoneX operates, among others, through the London Metal Exchange, where it has been present since 2011. StoneX Financial Ltd is a Category 1 Member of the LME – one of only nine brokerages entitled to trade in the open-outcry Ring (ring dealing). The group’s metals teams specialise in aluminium, copper, zinc, lead, nickel and tin, and the Hamburg metals desk serves industrial clients across Europe – including the non-ferrous metals and recycling value chain.

Lumina Metals

Lumina Metals is a Toronto Stock Exchange–listed (TSX: LMCU) Canadian exploration and development company that has been exploring and evaluating Kupferschiefer-type (copper-shale) copper and silver deposits in south-western Poland since 2011. Its team’s work has delivered a portfolio of three standalone greenfield discoveries: the flagship Nowa Sól project in the Lubuskie region, alongside the Sulmierzyce and Mozów deposits.

The Nowa Sól project ranks among the largest copper and silver discoveries of the past two decades, with estimated resources of approximately 9 million tonnes of copper and nearly 900 million ounces of silver. The company has launched an NI 43-101 pre-feasibility study (PFS) together with engineering group Fluor Corporation and is advancing environmental and permitting work as well as dialogue with regional stakeholders. In April 2026 Lumina completed a TSX initial public offering, raising about C$406 million – more than three times its original target.

Lumina’s work responds to the structural copper-supply gap across Europe and NATO countries, driven by the energy transition, data-centre growth and defence needs. Led by a management team with over 225 combined years of mining experience, the company is developing the resource through technical excellence, environmental stewardship and strategic partnerships – including ongoing talks with KGHM. It is headquartered in Vancouver, with a country office in Warsaw.

Zakłady Magnezytowe Ropczyce S.A.

Zakłady Magnezytowe ROPCZYCE S.A. is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of high-quality refractory materials – basic and aluminosilicate products that line furnaces and thermal equipment operating at extreme temperatures. Its products are essential to processes in iron and steel metallurgy, non-ferrous metallurgy, and the cement, lime, glass, foundry and coke-making industries.

The plant’s history dates back to the 1970s: construction began in 1971, production started in 1976 and full capacity was reached in 1978. In 1997 the company – among the first in its industry – implemented an ISO 9001 quality management system and debuted on the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, where it remains listed today. The ROPCZYCE Capital Group was created in 2001 and privatisation was completed in 2004.

The company runs its own Research & Development Centre, offers comprehensive technical support – from material selection through supervision to lining-performance analysis – and consistently introduces innovative solutions for demanding global customers. Its business is complemented by community engagement (the Magnezyty Foundation) and sustainability reporting. For the non-ferrous sector, ROPCZYCE is a partner supplying materials critical to the reliability and energy efficiency of metallurgical furnaces. The company is headquartered in Warsaw, with its main production plant in Ropczyce, south-eastern Poland.

Politechnika Częstochowska

Częstochowa University of Technology is a public technical university with a tradition reaching back to 1949, when it was founded as an Engineering School; it gained university (politechnika) status in 1955. Today it comprises 7 faculties educating around 5,800 students and almost 80 doctoral candidates across 45 study programmes and 215 laboratories, supported by nearly 600 academic staff.

Of particular relevance to cooperation with the Chamber is the Faculty of Production Engineering and Materials Technology – a unit with metallurgical roots, established in 1950 as the Faculty of Metallurgy (later the Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, and since 2013 under its current name). It provides a research base in metallurgy, metal forming, materials engineering and materials technology, directly linked to the non-ferrous metals and recycling industry.

The university develops research areas including advanced materials, the energy transition, Industry 4.0 technologies and digitalisation, and its researchers’ innovations are recognised internationally (e.g. the INTARG 2026 fair). As an IGMNiR member, Częstochowa University of Technology brings expert resources, R&D potential and a bridge between science and industrial practice in the non-ferrous metals sector. Address: ul. J.H. Dąbrowskiego 69, Częstochowa.
