About the company
Lumina Metals is an international mining company with many years of experience in the exploration and appraisal of metal ore deposits and in the development of modern mining projects. The company was founded by Canadian Ross Beaty, a globally recognised geologist and investor (founder of, among others, Pan American Silver and Equinox Gold) and a recipient of numerous awards for his mining activity and environmental philanthropy. The company recently listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and plans to begin trading on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in the near future.
The company has been investing in Poland since 2011, running the largest copper and silver ore exploration programme in over half a century. Covering the southern parts of the Lubuskie and Wielkopolskie voivodeships, it involves several dozen boreholes alongside extensive geophysical and laboratory studies. The company's expenditure on this work has already exceeded PLN 500 million, and thanks to these efforts — and to the expertise of its Polish team of geologists and scientists — the company has discovered and documented three previously unknown, world-class copper and silver ore deposits: Nowa Sól and Mozów (Lubuskie Voivodeship) and Sulmierzyce Północ (Wielkopolskie Voivodeship).
The company has now begun cooperation with Fluor Corporation, including its branch in Gliwice, covering technical and economic analyses for the construction of a mine.
