INSG, ICSG and ILZSG Autumn Meetings
Three international study groups – nickel, copper, and lead and zinc – hold their autumn meetings in Lisbon, with a joint seminar on water management in mining and metals on 14 October.

The International Nickel Study Group (INSG), the International Copper Study Group (ICSG) and the International Lead and Zinc Study Group (ILZSG) are intergovernmental organisations that collect market data on these metals and prepare supply and demand forecasts. All three are based in Lisbon and meet twice a year, in spring and autumn.
Programme
- 12–13 October – INSG meetings at the Study Groups’ headquarters: Statistics Committee with a review of the nickel market and forecasts for 2027, Industry Advisory Panel and Environmental and Economics Committee; on the morning of 13 October, the Standing Committee (governments only) and the Plenary Session.
- 13 October – ICSG meetings at the Group’s headquarters in Lisbon, attended by member governments, their industry advisers and invited observer countries.
- 14 October, 14:00–17:00 – Joint Study Groups’ Seminar “A Liquid Asset: Managing Water in Mining and Metals”, Altis Grand Hotel. Presentations from the Ministry of Mines of the DR Congo, APNI (Indonesia), the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Non-Ferrous Metals Institute (Krzysztof Rajczykowski), Umicore (Belgium) and Atlantic Copper (Spain). In the evening, the Study Groups’ reception at the Palácio do Conde d’Óbidos, headquarters of the Portuguese Red Cross.
- 14–16 October – 71st ILZSG Session, Altis Grand Hotel. Around 150 participants from member governments and industry; the programme includes updated lead and zinc market forecasts for 2026–2027 and topical presentations, among them “Zinc in Poland: From Mining to Smelting and Recycling” by Marek Drosik, Member of the Board of ZGH Bolesław.
