RADO Sp. z o.o., headquartered in Ławnica (Ławnica 240, Chorzelów post office, Tuszów Narodowy municipality), is a cable and metals recycling company registered in the Polish National Court Register under KRS 0000283768; according to the register, its principal activity is the recovery of sorted materials. The company has been operating since 1999 – initially serving the telecommunications sector with a focus on recycling telecom cables and disposing of equipment, it later expanded into the power and railway sectors. RADO operates within the informal RADO Group, working with partner companies, and describes itself as a leader in cable recycling in Europe.
The company runs six process lines, a large transport fleet and a team of over 300 employees; according to its website it processes 70,000 t of metals a year with a metal recovery rate of 95%. Its services include wholesale purchasing of cables, non-ferrous scrap and mixed metals, material recycling, hazardous waste disposal, infrastructure dismantling and domestic and international road haulage. Cable processing yields copper granulate (from grade II to 99.99% Millberry, as well as tinned granulate), aluminium and lead granulate and cable plastics. An in-house laboratory equipped with laser and X-ray spectrometers analyses non-ferrous metals and plastics, and the R&D office cooperates with technical universities. Its management systems are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
RADO is a certified end-of-chain recycler under the R4 process: cables are sorted, stripped of insulation and shredded, and the metals – copper, aluminium and steel – are separated on the basis of density and magnetic properties and refined with eddy-current separators; the recovered materials go to smelters and foundries. The company reports emissions of no more than 200 kg of CO₂ per tonne of copper and 600 kg of CO₂ per tonne of aluminium, and its installations are fitted with dust filters with 99.9% efficiency. As an IGMNiR member, RADO represents cable recycling and the recovery of copper, aluminium and lead as secondary raw materials for the non-ferrous metals industry.
