PPUH AUTOPART Jacek Bąk Sp. z o.o., headquartered in Mielec (ul. Kwiatkowskiego 2A), is a Polish manufacturer of lead-acid batteries, registered in the Polish National Court Register under KRS 0000251774. Together with AUTOPART SA it forms the AUTOPART Group, which has been on the market since the 1980s and was founded by Jacek Bąk. The Mielec plant, with 21,000 m² of production space, makes around 2.5 million batteries a year for customers in nearly 55 countries; the group employs some 400 specialists.
The range covers starter batteries for passenger cars and vans, trucks and buses, tractors and agricultural machinery, as well as deep-cycle batteries and energy storage – in conventional lead-acid, EFB and AGM technologies, including batteries for start-stop vehicles. Batteries are designed in the company’s own R&D centre, and production – from plate manufacturing (Barton reactors, pasting) to automated assembly, formation and packing – is run with the in-house APM Manager system. The company also specialises in private-label brands and cooperation with OEM partners. Its management system meets the requirements of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
The lead-acid battery is among the most recycled products, and lead recovered from spent batteries returns to production. AUTOPART uses recycled components and sends production waste and spent batteries to lead smelters; the plant runs a closed process-water loop with its own wastewater treatment plant, and a 1 MWp photovoltaic installation cuts CO₂ emissions by around 770 t a year. The company is implementing due diligence in its raw-material supply chain in line with OECD guidance and the EU Batteries Regulation. As an IGMNiR member, AUTOPART represents the battery industry – the largest user of lead – and its links with battery recycling.
