About the company

Metso Poland Sp. z o.o., headquartered in Katowice (ul. Graniczna 29), is the Polish company of the Metso group, registered in the Polish National Court Register under KRS 0000155847 (since 20 March 2003); according to the register, its shareholders are Metso Oyj and Metso Finland Oy. The company previously traded as Outotec (Polska) Sp. z o.o. and, under a resolution of 5 November 2010, took over Larox Poland Sp. z o.o., based in Katowice. Its main activity is the wholesale of machinery for mining, construction and civil engineering; in the group’s list of locations it appears as a Mining & Minerals Processing unit.

The Metso group, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, describes itself as a provider of sustainable technologies, end-to-end solutions and services for aggregates production, minerals processing and metals refining; it employs over 17,000 people in nearly 50 countries and is listed on Nasdaq Helsinki. Its offering combines equipment, spare and wear parts, services, and digital and process automation solutions. According to the register, the Polish company’s scope also includes the repair, maintenance and installation of industrial machinery, engineering consultancy, technical testing and analysis, and research and development. In September 2024 Metso opened a Digital Design and Development Studio in Kraków, which develops digital solutions for minerals processing customers.

The group’s links with the Polish non-ferrous metals industry include technology deliveries: according to archived releases published on the Metso website, in 2008 Outotec agreed with KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. on the modernisation of the flash smelting furnace at the Głogów II smelter, and in 2017 it was awarded a contract by ZGH Bolesław for zinc electrowinning technology for the plant in Bukowno, where over half of the zinc is to be produced from recycled materials. The group targets net zero emissions in its own operations by 2030, and its Metso Plus portfolio includes over 100 products that are more energy- or water-efficient or support recyclability. As an IGMNiR member, Metso Poland represents suppliers of machinery and technology for mining, ore processing and non-ferrous metallurgy.
