ALU-MET Sp. z o.o., headquartered in Nowy Sącz (ul. Zielona 49), collects, trades and prepares metal scrap and other secondary raw materials for recycling; according to the KRS, its main activity is the wholesale of waste and scrap. The company has been registered in the Polish National Court Register under KRS 0000849940 since 2020, when it was formed by converting a sole proprietorship operating as F.H. “ALU-MET”. According to its website, the business has been operating since 2006 – it started out as a local scrap collection point.
According to figures published on its website, ALU-MET operates 8 wholesale branches and 14 retail collection points in the Małopolskie and Śląskie voivodeships, employs 120 people and uses, among other equipment, 15 trucks (containers, tubs, loader cranes), 15 vans, 7 NITON spectrometers, 30 forklifts and 4 FUCHS loaders. Average monthly purchases amount to around 3,500 t of non-ferrous scrap and 2,500 t of ferrous scrap. Its services also include scrap pick-up with its own transport, container placement, collection of waste paper, plastics and e-waste, and document shredding.
The company buys copper, brass, bronze, aluminium, zinc, lead, tin and zinc-aluminium alloy (znal) scrap, as well as steel, cast-iron and stainless steel scrap, ferroalloys and batteries; it also buys and sells precious and rare metals priced on the basis of LME quotations. It collects and processes spent automotive catalytic converters containing palladium, rhodium and platinum (valued on the basis of chemical analysis), and its site at ul. Grunwaldzka 174 in Nowy Sącz handles wholesale collection and processing of aluminium cans. As an IGMNiR member, ALU-MET represents regional collection and recycling of non-ferrous and precious metal scrap from southern Poland in the Chamber.
