About the company

STELLMET Sp. z o.o. sp. k., headquartered in Katowice (ul. Jana III Sobieskiego 11/E6), buys and trades waste of rare, precious and selected non-ferrous metals; according to the register, its main activity is the wholesale of metals and metal ores. The company, registered in the Polish National Court Register under KRS 0000966521, was formed in 2022 through the conversion of the STELLMET civil-law partnership, and its general partner is STELLMET Sp. z o.o. Its 6,000 m² material intake yard is located in Świętochłowice (ul. Metalowców 1b, c), with a sales office in Katowice.

The company buys, among other things, cemented carbide and cutting tools, tool, high-speed, alloy and stainless steels, nickel, cobalt, molybdenum, tungsten, titanium, Inconel alloys, ferroalloys, precious metals – including silver, platinum, palladium and gold-plated parts – and non-ferrous metals, chiefly tin and bronze. Material is sorted and priced on the basis of chemical analysis with portable XRF spectrometers, usually in the customer’s presence. The company has its own fleet of hook-lift trucks, vans and tractor units with containers, collects waste from suppliers in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic and other EU countries, and reports working with some 10,000 businesses. It operates under waste collection permits, and its quality management system meets PN-EN ISO 9001:2015.

The offer targets CNC machining shops, toolrooms, the aerospace sector, steelworks, foundries, forges and rolling mills, machine builders and scrap yards, as well as private customers. For metallurgical plants the company collects and classifies items such as worn alloy-steel rolls and rollers, dies, platinum-rhodium thermocouples, and bronze slides, bushings and plain bearings, and also offers outsourced management of metal waste. As an IGMNiR member, STELLMET represents the collection and preparation for recycling of rare and precious metal and high-alloy steel waste.
