About the company

MTB Recycling is the name used by the French MTB group (MTB GROUP, registered in the Registre du commerce et des sociétés of Vienne under number 530 380 948), headquartered in Saint-Chef in the Isère department, with a recycling site in Trept. The company was founded in 1981 as MTB – Machines de Triage et de Broyage and has always combined two activities: waste recycling and the design and manufacture of recycling machinery. In Poland the group operates through its subsidiary MTB Central & Eastern Europe Sp. z o.o., based in Warsaw (Al. Jerozolimskie 146B) and registered in the Polish National Court Register under KRS 0001063755, in which MTB Group holds 90% of the shares.

MTB states that it has sold 5,500 machines since 1981, and it employs 235 people. Its equipment – pre-shredders, shredders, shears, granulators and separation equipment – is designed and built at its 10,000 m² plant in Saint-Chef; the company also offers compact containerised lines (the BOX range and the MaX unit) and turnkey lines including project engineering. The solutions are intended, among other things, for processing cables, aluminium, batteries, waste electrical and electronic equipment, scrap and end-of-life vehicles, tyres and industrial waste. Subsidiaries operate in Germany, the United States and Central and Eastern Europe, and in 2025 MTB Recycling was awarded an EcoVadis silver medal.

At its recycling site in Trept (80,000 m², an ICPE-classified installation), MTB processes copper and aluminium cables, Almelec conductors, scrap, radiators and wheel rims, among other materials, producing secondary raw materials: copper and aluminium granules of 99% purity, plastic granules, brass, zinc, nickel and stainless steel. The company describes itself as number one in copper and aluminium cable recycling in France and reports an average material recovery rate of 95%. As an IGMNiR member, MTB Recycling represents mechanical recycling technologies for non-ferrous metals from cables and complex waste, as well as the manufacturers of machinery used to process them.
