About the company

FERECO Sp. z o.o., headquartered in Kraśnik (ul. Kolejowa 4), is a recycling company turning waste into secondary raw materials, registered in the Polish National Court Register under KRS 0000731478 (entered on 10 May 2018). According to the register, its main business is wholesale of waste and scrap, and its scope of business also covers, among others, waste collection, dismantling of wrecks, recovery of sorted materials and wholesale of metals and metal ores. The company states that its competences focus on processing incinerator bottom ash (IBA) and the ZORBA fraction.

Its core activity is the separation of ferrous and non-ferrous metals using automation and sensor-based separators, which separate heavy metals such as copper and brass from lighter fractions, including aluminium. According to the company, its technologies make it possible to recover 97% of fully usable raw materials from waste. Bottom ash is processed at the company’s own plant in Kraśnik or – thanks to mobile processing units – directly at the customer’s site. The range comprises non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper, brass, zinc, stainless steel), ferrous metals and recycled aggregates for construction and industry that comply with the relevant standards.

Recovering raw materials from waste incineration ash reduces landfilling, while metals and aggregates return to economic use; the company also points out that recycling aluminium puts up to 20 times less strain on the environment than producing it from bauxite and saves up to 95% of energy. FERECO sees its mission as contributing to the circular economy by recovering key raw materials from waste and protecting natural resources. As an IGMNiR member, FERECO represents the recovery of non-ferrous metals from incinerator bottom ash and other waste streams.
