About the company

Centrozłom Wrocław S.A., headquartered in Wrocław (ul. Robotnicza 16), collects and processes scrap, trades in non-ferrous metals and acts as an intermediary in steel distribution; it is registered in the Polish National Court Register under KRS 0000295859, and its principal registered activity is wholesale of waste and scrap. It traces its origins to the State Scrap Wholesaler established in Wrocław in 1946; in 2008 the state enterprise was transformed into a joint-stock company, and in 2010 KGHM Ecoren S.A. acquired 85% of its shares. Its sole shareholder today is KGHM Metraco S.A., and the company belongs to the KGHM Polska Miedź Group; in 2026 it celebrates its 80th anniversary.

The offer covers the purchase of steel scrap (new production, end-of-life, cast iron and stainless) and non-ferrous metals – copper, brass, bronze, aluminium, zinc and nickel – as well as spent batteries, alternators and starters. The company sells steel, prefabricates reinforcement at its plant in Oława (bars of 6–40 mm in diameter and up to 15 m long), collects and transports industrial waste, including hazardous waste, as an intermediary registered in the BDO waste database, and also destroys defective and withdrawn products and reclaims land and landfill sites. It operates nationwide with its own transport and containers; it introduced an ISO 9001 quality management system in 2000.

The company processes metals in a full cycle – from collecting the material to delivering product meeting the specifications of smelters, foundries and processing plants – sorting scrap according to European grade classifications for steel, non-ferrous metals and their alloys. Every load undergoes a radiation check before entering the site, and installations are upgraded in line with best available techniques (BAT), with continuous monitoring of emissions and energy and water use. As an IGMNiR member (since 2017), Centrozłom Wrocław represents the collection and preparation of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap for recycling within the KGHM Group.
