SGM Magnetics S.p.A.
SGM Magnetics S.p.A., headquartered in Manerbio near Brescia in northern Italy, is a pioneer and world leader in industrial magnet and separation technologies. Founded in 1954, the company takes its name and logo from its two historical core businesses: lifting-magnet systems for the steel industry and magnetic separators for the recycling industry.
Over more than seventy years SGM has built one of the widest ranges of in-house separation technologies — magnetic separators, inductive sensor-based separators (ISS), X-ray separators, optical colour sorters, gravimetric separation and complete process plants for metal recovery. Its milestones include the first lifting electromagnets (1954), electro-permanent magnets (1974), rare-earth electro-permanent magnets (1991) and the Dynamic Ferrous Separators (2004).
SGM’s declared mission is to advance the circular economy by helping its customers recycle metals more efficiently and profitably. The group operates through subsidiaries in Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the United States, China, Mexico, India and Japan. As an IGMNiR member, SGM brings world-class expertise in the separation and recovery of non-ferrous metals, strengthening the technological backbone of the recycling value chain.
