Nord-Schrott International GmbH, headquartered in Butzbach, Germany (August-Wenzel-Straße 4), is a metal and scrap trading company that describes itself as an intermediary between the metal trade and the metal-processing industry, tracking global raw-material flows in order to supply markets reliably and promptly. The company is entered in the commercial register in Flensburg under HRA 4744 and belongs to the Nord-Schrott group of companies, which includes businesses in recycling, waste management, demolition and the trade in stainless steel and alloyed scrap. In addition to Butzbach, it has contact persons in Scandinavia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, China and India.
Its range comprises 80 types of secondary raw materials, and the company works with partners in 35 countries. Its main focus is non-ferrous metals: grades of aluminium scrap (including extrusions, wire, castings, radiators and offset plates), copper (including Millberry, Berry, refining copper, granules and turnings) and brass, as well as lead and zinc; these are complemented by alloyed scrap (V2A and V4A stainless steel, chrome steel, special alloys) and steel scrap. Materials undergo multi-stage quality control and – depending on their properties and customer requirements – are cut, shredded or baled. The company is certified as a specialised waste management company (Entsorgungsfachbetrieb) and operates a quality management system in line with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
Nord-Schrott International holds end-of-waste certificates for copper scrap under Regulation (EU) No 715/2013 and for aluminium scrap under Regulation (EU) No 333/2011, as well as a qualification certificate for foreign suppliers of recycled copper and aluminium raw materials. The company stresses that secondary raw materials replace primary ones and that producing aluminium from secondary raw materials requires around 5% of the energy needed for production from primary raw materials. It is a member of the Verband Deutscher Metallhändler e.V. As an IGMNiR member, Nord-Schrott International represents the international trade in non-ferrous scrap, including trade with partners in Poland.
