Non-ferrous metals – copper, aluminium and brass – form a significant part of the material stream that Metkom buys, sorts, prepares and sells as secondary raw materials to manufacturing plants and smelters; the company states that it continuously monitors chemical and physical quality and operates on a circular-economy model, including closing the loop for EPDM rubber waste. According to the company, it is the only Polish enterprise in the consortium of the international Circular Ports project, in which it forms the Polish part of the team together with the University of Gdańsk. As an IGMNiR member, Metkom represents companies that buy, process and trade scrap and industrial waste, combining non-ferrous metal recycling with services for manufacturing plants.
