About the company

Fabryki Sprzętu i Narzędzi Górniczych Grupa Kapitałowa FASING S.A., headquartered in Katowice (ul. Modelarska 11), is a manufacturer of link chains, chain assemblies and accessories for mining and other industries, registered in the Polish National Court Register under KRS 0000120721. The company’s principal registered activity is the manufacture of wire products, chains and springs. The joint-stock company was formed by transforming the state enterprise Fabryka Sprzętu i Narzędzi Górniczych “FASING”, and the plant’s tradition dates back to 1913, when a works producing equipment and tools for mining was registered in the Załęże district of Katowice. The group includes, among others, MOJ S.A. and the distribution companies FASING Ukraina, FASING China and FASING America.

The range covers chains with diameters from 9 to 60 mm – round and flat mining chains, abrasion-resistant chains, lifting and hoist chains, fishing and technical chains – as well as connecting links, flight bars, clamps, locks and complete chain assemblies for scraper conveyors. The company describes itself as the largest chain manufacturer in Central Europe for mining, power generation, transport and handling, sugar mills, cement plants and fisheries; its products reach over 4,000 customers in 50 countries, with China, the USA, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Kazakhstan and Ukraine as the main export markets. FASING has its own technology and design department and a team of testing laboratories, cooperates with the AGH University of Krakow, the Central Mining Institute and the Silesian University of Technology, and has held ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification since 1997.

In the 1930s the plant operated as Fabryka Maszyn i Odlewnia Żeliwa i Metali Kolorowych “MOJ” (machine works and iron and non-ferrous metals foundry). Today the company states that it makes the fullest possible use of its production waste and limits noise and emissions, and its registered scope of activity also includes the wholesale of waste and scrap. FASING is implementing a project co-financed by the Just Transition Fund, covering the adaptation of its machinery for climate-neutral production, a photovoltaic installation, a heat pump and rainwater recovery for cooling the quenching tanks, as well as diversification into non-mining markets. As an IGMNiR member, FASING represents the engineering industry that supplies mining and raw-materials processing with chains and conveyor equipment.
