Castolin Sp. z o.o., headquartered in Gliwice (ul. Leonarda da Vinci 5), is the Polish company of the Castolin Eutectic group, registered in the Polish National Court Register under KRS 0000137485; its sole shareholder is Castolin GmbH. Its principal registered activity is wholesale trade, and its scope also covers metal treatment and coating, repair and maintenance of machinery, and installation of industrial machinery. The brand originates from Castolin, founded in 1906 in Lausanne; since 2020 the group has been owned by the European investment firm Paragon Partners, which acquired all shares from the Messer Group.
The range covers wear protection, repair and joining solutions: welding consumables (coated electrodes, solid and flux-cored wires, TIG rods), brazing alloys, fluxes and pastes, powders for plasma transferred arc welding and thermal spraying (including HVOF), arc spraying wires, polymer coatings, laser cladding, and CDP® hardfaced wear plates and CastoTube® pipes. The group provides its services – extending component life, repairing damage, manufacturing new parts and protective coatings – on site or in 20 Castolin Services workshops. Since 2008 the CastoSchool training, promotion and innovation centre, with six welding stations, has operated in Gliwice.
Castolin Eutectic solutions are used in, among others, metallurgy, mining, cement, power generation, and waste processing and recycling – including metal and end-of-life vehicle recycling, where they protect grabs against wear. Brazing makes it possible to join different metals and materials, and reconditioning worn parts extends their service life; the company states that it operates in line with EU circular economy principles, and the group has introduced GreenBraz products free of cadmium and boric acid. As an IGMNiR member, Castolin represents joining, hardfacing and surface protection technologies used in metallurgical, processing and recycling plants.
