## In brief

National waste catalogue (counterpart of Decision 2000/532/EC), used for the classification, recording in BDO, permits, SENT and shipment of waste. The act has not been amended; a draft new regulation is in progress.

## Key obligations

- classification of waste by source of generation into 20 groups, subgroups and types with a six-digit code (§§ 2–3 and Annex; Art. 4(1) of the Act on waste)
- waste indicated in the catalogue as hazardous (code marked ‘*’) is hazardous waste, with the possibility of reclassification (Arts 6–7 of the Act on waste)
- the catalogue codes are used in waste records (Art. 66(1) of the Act on waste) and in SENT notifications (§ 1(7) of the Regulation of the Minister of Finance of 25.04.2022)

no penalties in the regulation; records inconsistent with the actual state – fine under Art. 194(1)(5b) of the Act on waste
