## In brief

List of waste codes (chapters 10 – wastes from thermal processes, 12, 16, 17 04, 19 10, 19 12) binding for the classification, recording and shipment of waste. From 9.12.2026 new codes for battery waste (Decision 2025/934).

## Key obligations

- classification of waste according to the six-digit codes of the list; waste marked with an asterisk is hazardous (Annex – list of waste)
- from 9.12.2026 application of the amended codes for battery waste and waste from its treatment (Delegated Decision (EU) 2025/934, Arts 1–2)
- the codes of the list are binding for the recording and shipment of waste – Regulation (EU) 2024/1157 refers to the list under Art. 7 of Directive 2008/98/EC (Art. 4(2)(d) WSR)

in PL – waste catalogue issued under Art. 4(3) of the Act on waste (Minister of Climate and Environment)

## Penalties

no penalties in the EU act; in PL – Art. 194 of the Act on waste (inter alia records inconsistent with the actual state)

from 1.01.2002; amendment by Delegated Decision (EU) 2025/934 applicable from 9.12.2026
